This is a charcoal drawing of Gillian Anderson from the X-files...without a doubt, one of the most beautiful women in the world.
This is 10x14 and is done with black and white charcoal pencils on a granite charcoal paper.
not many can pull her face off but you did it perfectly. im a big fan of the x-files, although i do not think the latest film does them justice. you should do more gillian fan art. and yes she is insanely beautiful
you know your right she is one of the most beautiful women in the world. any way this is a drawing that i can tell you put some time into am I right? check out my gallery if ya want.
I do like this drawing very much and put it in my favorotes
DAMN THAT'S GOOD! really wish I could do that with charcoal but I'm a line person Use a pencil but don't rub to get that kind of shade. what I do is shade in by drawing the pen or pencil or mech-pencil to get that kind of shade....that's a chumps way of doing it but what can I say.....chumps way works for me.....anyway had two drawings put up now come and look at them, you'll see what I mean...
I can see why you use no vine charcoal. It is more like painting than the intense detail you get with this. However I think you should try the vine charcoal sometime. It can be rewarding to be a bit more free than making everything so realistic all the time Although I do understand the need for perfection. This is very well done, was it done from a reference picture?
when i first saw this photo as a thumbnail, i was like, now wait a minute, what is that actual photograph doing in their gallery? and then i clicked on it and was impressed to find out it was actually a rendering.
Magnificient, especiall the top right segment of the hair and the bottom right of her tank top. You have some excellent hand control with charcol. Most people (like me lol) just cheat and soft blend everything and forget about pencil detail with charcol. You are DA MAN!
This looks so beautiful. The shading is wonderful; it's got a great texture, and there's a deep contrast between light and dark that really makes it stand out. The little details, like the light in her eyes and the texture of her shirt, complement this picture perfectly. And it looks just like Ms. Anderson. Great work!
Very lovely job! I really like the hair and eyes. But there is something with the nose that doesn't seem that right with me. It could be I just don't know what this actress looks like well enough, or the photo. . it just doesn't seem as defined as it could be. A little too much light on it. But very nice job!
That would do it. I hate it when shading is lost myself and then you have to guess what to do and then it turns out to look bad and then it becomes a whole mess. . .but, you did a wonderful job. I was just wondering about the nose. . and now I know
